How To Wear Promotional Polo Shirts

Polo shirts are the staple of many men’s wardrobes. It’s easy to see why as they are stylish and have a smart look. They have been popular for decades and will surely continue to do so for decades to come. We thought we’d have a bit of fun and talk about how to wear a polo shirt with jeans.

Firstly, get the length right. You don’t want anything too long or floppy. If you are combining it with a pair of jeans try to keep the length of the shirt to around the jean pocket height.

Colour Co-ordination is another important part. You want to try and match appropriately to your jeans. As most jeans are made from denim, simple colours work best. If your jeans are a dark colour the best match for your polo shirt is lighter pastel colours or muted soft colours. If the jeans are a lighter colour, then a bright contrasting colour works best.

In regards to the look, there are 3 ways to do this. You can have the relaxed look with the polo shirt worn outside of the jeans. Just make sure if you are doing this way the shirt is fitted and ironed. You want to look casual, but you don’t want to look sloppy. From there you can go to the smart casual look with the polo shirt tucked in. It can give a smart-casual vibe, but if you want a smarter look pair it with a blazer and you will look both polished and sophisticated. Perfect for casual daytime parties.

The great thing about polo shirts is you can wear them in both summer and winter. As long as you have different colours available you can match them to both jeans in winter and shorts in summer. When it comes to winter, you can also do layering to keep you warm. The obvious is to throw on a jumper or sweater to keep things looking smart and just keep it to simple palette colours.

To keep a comfortable fit, keep the shirt loose, but not too loose, nor do you want it too tight. The best rule of thumb guide is to see if you can fit a finger between sleeve and bicep. If it works, then this will ensure your polo shirt fits well. If you wear it too tightly it doesn’t look smart and is not comfortable to wear.

The features you want to keep an eye out for are numerous. The material is an important factor. Cotton or organic cotton are soft to touch and feel great against the skin, but if it is something you need where you will be active, something like moisture wicking material would work best. Good quality buttons and a strong collar are also important features, but the biggest is your branding. Keep it simple and understated. Am embroidered logo on the front left chest is the ideal branding. This will keep the polo shirt stylish, while still promoting your brand or club.
